Drastic stuff

We were having a chat about the new iPhone 4S. Tim said something like “Android may well have matured in a couple of years” and I found myself pointing out how everything will be different…

• Apple will release iPhone 5S. It’ll have an 8 core processor, a 10 gigapixel video camera and the most incredible OS known to mankind. The tech press will say it’s a bit of a disappointing update and people will queue around the block to get hold of one.
• Nokia will have some very nice Windows 8 Phone devices and nobody will care.
• Samsung will be selling mobile devices offering 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/9/10/11/12/13 and 42” screens. Their lawyers won’t be able to tell the difference between them any any other product on the market.
• Motogoogarolla will have shiny new Android 6¾ devices with guns and laser beams and cake dispensers, but those bits won’t work pending a firmware upgrade.
• HTC will run out of good superlatives and release a device called the Awesome!!!!!! It won’t be awesome.
• Amazon will release a Kindle phone.
• Intel will still not know what to do with Meego/LiMo/Tizen/whatever it’s called these days.
• Does anyone remember Blackberry? Palm?
